Our little Cairn Terrier is true to his Terrier traits. He’s very stubborn but is responding to the techniques we’ve been taught by Keith at Barkbusters. We still have a way to go but there has been a great improvement. And it’s reassuring we have lifetime help with him. Permalink

Our wee woof (Bella) is a rescue dog who was used for breeding and therefore, has triggers. Keith was very willing to work with us to ensure that we could implement these practices in a way that was safe for all of us. He was knowledgeable, empathetic, sympathetic and everything was explained in a way that we could all understand. Keith also got the measure of Bell very quickly and was able to clarify some of her behaviours for us. The exercises we have been given are easy and effective. We noticed a difference straight away although there are still areas where we are all still learning and it will take a while to embed but Keith was very open and honest with us about that. There is a huge emphasis on care for everyone which we appreciated. Things aren't perfect but we now have strategies and exercises to work with and also know that we can call on Keith whenever we can, which give us all a high level of comfort. Permalink

We've had a problem with our friendly, kindly granddog Archie who is three years old (border collie, lab, huntaway). His only fault is that he rushes at visitors while barking a ferocious huntaway warning. Keith was quick to the rescue, arranging a session that took place a few days after our initial phone chat. It was a great help having Keith explain Archie's behaviour, how he's acting instinctively to protect us and that he needs to know that barking is not OK, that we have the situation under control so he doesn't need to overreact. He showed us how to practice a series of voice signals, followed by a command, then praise (no treats). This method will change his behaviour as long as we practice, practice, practice with Archie. Keith was friendly and very clear in outlining the instructions we need to follow. There was plenty of time to ask questions and practice the method. Archie responded very well in the session. It surprised us how quickly he learned. We feel much more confident now that we know what to do and have a clear plan to follow. The method has already made a difference to Archie. I contacted Keith to help with our 1.5 yr old labraspoodle. Our pup was still chewing on things, pulling when walking, jumping up at people and ignoring the come command. The work we have done with Keith has made such a huge difference. From the 1st session we saw big improvements. Walking him is now a pleasure and I can even take him to our sons football matches without worrying about him jumping up on people. He is now chewing his toys and not my cushions! I think that he is more relaxed now and that has strengthened the bond with the whole family. Thanks Keith Permalink
