Bark Busters Reviews and Customer Testimonials

4th August 2026 - Keiko Ruwhiu

Keiko dealt with Aggression, Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Other

Keiko's methods work! We were really struggling with a very reactive teenage bitch with the final straw having her stood down from daycare. We have much work to do over the next few weeks but already we have made massive progress after just one session. I am no longer anxious and am feeling very confident that we can all start to have a life again with a well behaved dog - thanks Keiko!

- C.C, Sunnynook (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Keiko
Thank you for a review! Sanna (Lab Staffy cross 2.5 years old) was confused about the rules, boundaries and who makes them. She needed to understand who is in charge.๐Ÿ˜‰ Keep up the good work! My help is always available for you and Sanna ๐Ÿ˜Š

2nd August 2026 - Mark Gall

Mark dealt with Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling

Amazing expert advice, made the session really easy, and comfortable given how nervous I was, saw results within the hour which was outstanding. Lilah responded and did as asked easily. No treats needed. Even got her to sit and stay on her bed. A 1st.

- N.A, Heathcote, Christchurch (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Lilah is a super clever dog Foxy x probably heading dog 2yrs old, as all her behaviours resembled heading dog /Collie behaviour the assumption is that's her breeding.. She never stops moving , barking and herding the family , she struggled to switch off and relax. Pulled constantly ,could get her attention . Our lesson started a little difficult to get her attention but then she switched in once I instructed Nicolas to apply our speak dog techniques. There is still some work to do and another session should see her right and training family to communicate with her correctly . Great work so far , I'll hear from you soon with an update.

Keiko dealt with Aggression, Barking, Chewing, Digging, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Sibling rivalry

Keiko came into my home after a desperate call to her a week earlier. I have used her before when my dogs have been out of line. but this time I have two puppies which was not my best work. My house was chaos, after 3.5 hours she had me trained enough that my household has become manageable. It has been hard work- but I have a way forward (with a lot of rules - which I created) so I could deal with the issues I created. Keiko is straight forward and blunt- I love that. She scares me - I need that. She knows so much more than I could ever hope to know. She tells it like it is. She is brutal - this approach just works. I even tried another assessment with another trainer, before I caved and went to Keiko (to avoid the telling off). Being unimpressed with their ability to, the cost and their plan- I went back to Keiko. She has been truly a blessing. My household is far from perfect. My pocket bully is behaving a million times better, he has stopped nipping My border collie is still hard work, he is finally lying down and 'resting ' Thanks again Keiko, the boys and I are forever grateful.

- a.f, auckland (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Keiko
Thank you Anne! Great to hear Bently (1 year old Bull Mastiff) and Bodhi (9 months old Border Collie) are doing well. Now they have a leader (dog parent) to help them learn rules, boundaries and good manners. They responded to their first session really well. Keep up the good work! My help is always available for you and the boys. ๐Ÿ˜Š

We had Mark come n help us be the best fur parents we can be to our new mini dachshund. We found it very informative n is a work in progress. We look forward to all that Mark has to offer with his wide knowledge. Currently trying to put his training into practice๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿถ

- B.S, Invercargill (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Little Doug is a 10wk old Dachshund with new little dogs parents. Been a while since they've had a puppy . We started with the basics and did what we could before wee man fell asleep . Basics of recall , not jumping up , on his bed, a intro to lead work . All part of the Life of the dog guarantee. Another sesion in a few weeks to work further now he's got those tasks sorted . In home dog training covers all the problems and situations before they become an issue. Naturally pups are a work in progress so catch up next trip master Doug.

Mark dealt with Barking, Pulling, Recall

Mark gave us the confidence and the tools to use every day so that we communicate better with our pup, and taught us how to teach her better behaviour and walking better on the lead

- J.O, Oamaru (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Indie is an Oamaru barker girl, 15mth old Mini Schnauzer who was reacting to everything walking past , pulled constantly, recall even in the garden wasn't good especially when rushing at passers by. She responded well in the lesson and calmed dramatically , still some work in progress to do but great progress so far. A revisit shortly will recap and readjust Indies view of the street life and what's allowed to walk down her street.

22nd July 2026 - Keith Mockett

Keith dealt with Separation anxiety

Keith is friendly and low key. Was a great help with my dog. He responds quickly to email and texts and is willing and helpful to provide guidance and teaching. He is calm with the teaching, not making you feel youโ€™re doing everything wrong but just gently directing to make corrections

- C.M, Lower Hutt (Testimonial)

Mark dealt with Aggression, Jumping up, Recall

The lesson with Mark has been really helpful. Elmo is now a lot more attentive, more relaxed, and is generally eager to please. But I'd have to say that the main issue of barking when the rubbish trucks/posties etc go past definitely needs a lot more work on our part. A work in rogress.

- J.G, Kaiapoi Christchurch (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Elmo is a head strong Jack russell of 7 yrs old and who reacts to rubbish trucks and passers by , couriers etc with loud and lots of barking. He pulled a bit , jumped up and the barking at arrivals and trucks was the main reason for the owner calling He'll be a bit a work in progress and on the day of the lesson responded well but it wasn't rubbish truck day . We'll set up another session on rubbish day to work through the rest of his issues. Good job 1st time round Elmo and the Elmo team.

Keith dealt with Barking, Pulling, Recall

Tiggy is quickly picking up the change of being boss and calling the shots. A lot of common sense, and easy to follow advice and so far the results are impressive.

- c.g, Lower Hutt (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Keith
With her humans Speaking Dog and doing leader things it is easy for her to do the right things. Less confusion, more obedience, more enjoyment. Great job.

Mark dealt with Aggression, Barking, Recall, Separation anxiety

We highly recommend Mark, Zena is showing promise after only the 1st lesson and he's taught us to communicate in a way she understands. We still have a bit of work to go but we are heading in the right direction already.

- J.W, Darfield canterbury (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Zena is a 11mth old Chocolate lab rehome to these owners only 6 weeks ago. Although she had basics of sit etc not much else training had been invested in her. So back to the basics of how to speak dog to teach dog so the owners could teach her and bring a sense of safety, security , and nurturing in line for Zena. Great first lesson and as part of the life of the dog guarantee she will get future lessons to fine tune what is still a work in progress process. Awesome job guys , see you again soon.

25th June 2026 - Mark Gall

Mark dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall

Mark has great dog training skills and instructed us well which had an immediate impact with our dogs behaviour. She was not coming when called ,Jumped a lot , generally a good dog but too hyper and barker at our fence lines.

- n.w, Upper Moutere, Motueka. (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Bodhi is a female boxer of 4 yrs old , full on , but such a clever thinker , playing games to be in charge and not recalling was her biggest game, also jumped up , , some dog reactive problems , and a barking match with the neighbours dogs. She responded very well and the owners applied the techniques well. She will test them but so far great progress after the 1st lesson . Updates to follow. Awesome work guys and Zena.

Keith dealt with Aggression, Hyperactivity, Puppy management, Sibling rivalry, Toileting, Other

Keith was absolutely amazing. We needed help with integrating our new puppy into the household with another dog and our baby (we are temporarily staying at family's place with their dog and there was a bit of biting going on from our pup) and helped us learn how to correct her behaviour in a more effective way than I have previously learnt in any puppy school with a dog i had many years ago. I absolutely love that his methods aren't food/treat driven and actually work. He explained things so well and thoroughly and answered all questions we had. He has set us up with so much information to be able to refer back to and read when needed and also given so many tips for our big move to another city. His knowledge and expertise have been absolutely invaluable to us. We can't recommend him enough.

- H.P, Wellington (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Keith
Thank you, I'm very pleased it was helpful. Puppies often cause a lot of stress because people don't know what to do or how to deal with behaviours. Getting the right advice and guidance makes a huge difference so it's great that we've been able to bring a bit of sanity and calm to a stressful situation. Good luck with the move, you'll have my colleague there to continue the training and support. You're in very good hands. All the best.
