Bark Busters Reviews and Customer Testimonials

23rd August 2016 - Mark Gall

Mark had Tilly eating out of the palm of his hand as soon as he arrived. He was patient, fantastic at explaining the techniques and why we needed to use them and really took a lot of time to make sure we knew what we were doing. Mark was so friendly and approachable and made us feel really good about the training ahead. He was really personable and calm which made us feel calm about the whole process too. He made sure we felt comfortable about contacting him again if we needed him and nothing was a problem for him. The training was hands on (not just him showing us). Tilly was a new dog within an hour! So happy we got Mark in to help us...now we just need to put the plan into action.

Trainer note from Mark
Tilly is very head strong Border terrier. I saw her many years ago but since then a whole world of changes. Earthquakes, new house , new babies, new lifestyle. They got the lifetime support guarantee way back then. Tilly was a barker, dog agro, grumpy at kids The owners are committed and I'm sure Tilly will respond to the program of focus work well. Fantastic effort guys.

Very pleasant guy ,gave us good information to continue with saw a change within the first half hour, very helpful. We will definitely continue with this . We didn't think we could do anything to change things but Chloe has really improved, we still have a long way to go but you need to start somewhere and we are very happy with what Chloe has done so far. Thank you so much Email the next day " First night in her crate (normally in the bed under the covers)no barking ,no whining"

Trainer note from Mark
One of the most frantic and persistent barkers for attention, separation, at door. Constant attention whines and worked up to barks, jumping ,begging.. Tough love on the owners but the results are speaking for themselves, learning not to give in to everything isn't easy for the owners and it'll be a work in progress but there work so far has been fantastic. Applying the simple process to get awesome results.

Mark was able to arm me with the skills to provide constant training with very encouraging results...even during the lesson Paddy was starting to show results.

- B.R, Prebbleton, Canterbury (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Not an easy dog as Paddy at 5 years old had some ingrained habits, Pulled, jumped up, wasn't great at recall. we managed to walk him past a street cat with out mayhem. Great effort by the owners to in still some basic obedience .

A quick message to say a BIG thank you. Jack is a changed dog. Even more changed after I added window adhesive to the corner window to slow down the vision of the street. Even when going out the dog door, no barking. Awesome result!

- L.M, Christchurch, Canterbury (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
A quick revisit after the owner moved house to reset the dog rules all part of the Gold support guarantee. New house, low windows and full street view constantly had created a stressed (I got to guard all this ) problem. Well done on putting back in place the skills to relax Jack again.

The training session was excellent. At times we could see that it was us (!) that was undergoing the training. They say that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"...that isn't the case in our situation. Our dog has responded well to new commands and ways of interacting with us.

- P.C, Prebbleton, Canterbury (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
This dog is 5 years old very lovely girl but a major puller and excitable with guests. The owners did very well at putting in place the focus exercises , she's a very persistent dog. but getting it.

For us the real bonus was that Mark came to our home and went for a walk with us to see the issues we had at first hand. He quickly saw what needed to be corrected and we were able to immediately put Marks training into practice. All under his watchful eye. A lot of written information was left with us so we didn't have to try and remember everything! It is amazing to have Shadow walk alongside us instead of being a husky and pulling us along! Very glad we found Barkbusters.

Training was great. Mark sat down and talked us through everything and made it so easy to understand. Then we went through the training. After this we saw changes in Harry in just one day.

I found Mark very friendly with clear instructions on how to correct Marco's bad habets. The training programme he suggested has given us more pleasure in walking marco and confidence in his behaviour when people come to the door.

- R.H, Ashburton, Canterbury (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Awesome effort by both owner and Marco the dog. Marco's 8, Owners retired with a knee op just mending. Problems were jumping up excitable Barking at door and pulling . Both did very well. Great work guys.

Thank you Mark for your clear explanation and support for establishing my mother wolf status. Joe Gibbs was in such a state he had done lots of damage to himself until his kennel wasn't a safe place for him during the day. It was really reassuring to hear that we could tackle the big problem without having to give up everything that's neat about having a small, sometimes smoochy dog. After a month of probably 90% consistency and a few small changes I found Joe tucked up in his kennel on Friday ready for me to go to work!, The biggest problem - now almost sorted. what a relief. I'm sure its not going to be perfect all the time but I feel really confident I'm on the right track.

Trainer note from Mark
Joe was an interesting and desperate case He had significantly damaged himself escaping his kennel where he goes during the day, because of his extreme separation anxiety ,the section would no longer contain him also barking issues and territorial barking problems. The owner rang Bark Busters from Council referral, very upset and not sure whether she would be able to keep Joe, a very spirited loveable Jack Russell. We booked a lesson and the next day I had a call from the owner , she'd heard a rumour about our training and wasn't sure about Bark Busters. I explained our system and back up and we continued to do the lesson a few days later. Big improvements on the first lesson 1st revisit more steps in place, we've now had two revisits with a Text early last Friday morning "couldn't find Joe in the house before work, he'd taken himself to his kennel ready for the day relaxed and happy". Major success. Consistency, leadership applied in the correct way ,good rules and biff loads of praise for the right behaviours and nearly all problems can be overcome. Awesome effort Joe boy and Human Mum.

Excellent. Mark is sure of what he is doing and Jed responded very quickly. I had bought a puppy training book that was good but so involved it wasn't possible for me to do (have the dog tied to me so he didn't get bad habits). Thankfully Bark Busters training can be used in any environment and is practical and easy to use in everyday life. It will help our family enjoy Jed so much more. I can already see that after some use/practice it will be needed less and less often.
