Our wee woof (Bella) is a rescue dog who was used for breeding and therefore, has triggers. Keith was very willing to work with us to ensure that we could implement these practices in a way that was safe for all of us. He was knowledgeable, empathetic, sympathetic and everything was explained in a way that we could all understand. Keith also got the measure of Bell very quickly and was able to clarify some of her behaviours for us. The exercises we have been given are easy and effective. We noticed a difference straight away although there are still areas where we are all still learning and it will take a while to embed but Keith was very open and honest with us about that. There is a huge emphasis on care for everyone which we appreciated.
Things aren't perfect but we now have strategies and exercises to work with and also know that we can call on Keith whenever we can, which give us all a high level of comfort.

We've had a problem with our friendly, kindly granddog Archie who is three years old (border collie, lab, huntaway). His only fault is that he rushes at visitors while barking a ferocious huntaway warning.
Keith was quick to the rescue, arranging a session that took place a few days after our initial phone chat. It was a great help having Keith explain Archie's behaviour, how he's acting instinctively to protect us and that he needs to know that barking is not OK, that we have the situation under control so he doesn't need to overreact. He showed us how to practice a series of voice signals, followed by a command, then praise (no treats). This method will change his behaviour as long as we practice, practice, practice with Archie.
Keith was friendly and very clear in outlining the instructions we need to follow. There was plenty of time to ask questions and practice the method. Archie responded very well in the session. It surprised us how quickly he learned. We feel much more confident now that we know what to do and have a clear plan to follow.
The method has already made a difference to Archie. He's calmer and toning down his excessive (to us) reaction to guests. We're not there yet, but well on the way.

After searching for an in-home dog trainer for quite some time, Mark was the only one that made the effort to call/text/email back quickly and offer advice BEFORE we set up the 1st appointment. (Alot didn't bother to reply at all or would refer us onto others due to my Pup's breed). Very personable and really knows his stuff! Peaches responded well to the training and we've put things into action already. I've noticed a huge change in not only her, but the way we interact as well after only one session. She was quite fearful of walking down our stairs & leaving the property, after a few MINUTES, she was able to do this - minus the fear. He gave us alot of great information and it's the first time in my life I'm looking forward to doing homework lol. Mark is worth every penny and then some! I can't speak highly enough of him. I'd 100% recommend to anybody looking for an in home dog trainer. :)

Peaches is a lovely Mastiff pup but very scared of life, noises , won't go out the gate. Puppy management and basics was the aim for the lesson and little peaches managed to get out the gate and down to the park on our first lesson. So far progress is awesome. Great work Guys.

Mark’s suggestions, training techniques and his supportive nature gave me the confidence I needed to get Gus and Benny on track. The positive results I’m aiming for were already starting to show in the time he spent with us and I am looking forward to continuing his lessons and watch my boys grow into the great dogs I now know they will be, all thanks to Mark.

I was a bit nervous at first because of how Jett behaves but after just 10 minutes or so Mark had help to get Jett quite and that made me feel better. Jett did really well for this first session. I'm very happy with how Mark is non-judgemental even when I stuff up or Jett decides to dig his heals in. I would recommend Mark Gall from Bark Busters to anyone and it's great comfort with the lifetime guarantee, knowing that if something else happens down the line I still have the support. Jett is probably the most aggressive dog I've encountered over the last year, through no fault of the owner but through stranger association when he was a small pup. This has led to extreme fear aggression of anyone coming close to him or owner and his territory. Barking was manic, aggression high. The first task was to quiet him down so we could just talk, he achieved that quite quickly and then through our focus exercises the owner was able to refocus Jett in situations that normally can't be controlled. Great commitment by the owner and great result on the day. I have no doubt he will be a work in progress but a good win so far. Awesome work team Jett.

It was very impressive training Brownie with Mark. We could notice the difference right from the moment Mark entered the house. Mark helped me become Brownie's leader and even though Brownie is still a work in progress, she's much more calmer and obedient inside the house now. I've been able to establish a special bond with my dog over the last 3 months which I clearly struggled for the first 2 years (before we asked Barkbusters for help). Mark also went to the extent of offering us a second lesson on his subsequent visit to Wellington which is so much appreciated. I would strongly recommend Mark as an expert dog trainer and I wish I had contacted BarkBuster's a year earlier when Brownie was still a puppy. Also, the Barkbusters long leash and harness have been such a help in training Brownie to walk outside. Would also recommend both of them.

Brownie is a very exuberant young Rottweiller with very little know ledge of boundaries when I first visited. Now a much better behaved girl. Great work by the owners to apply the training technique to end up with a happy relaxed dog.

Results by the end of the training session were more than I could've imagined. Since our session Waititi is noticeably more relaxed in so many ways, beyond the areas we addressed, and friends have commented on how "soft" his face seems now. He is a senior rescue dog that I've had for a couple of months, and I'm so pleased to see him transforming into a more relaxed and content dog so quickly.
