Clear communication, felt comfortable asking questions, fantastic knowledge, punctual and reliable. Within the first session our puppy has been taught valuable obedience skills

- J.V, Christchurch,wainoni (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Young couple , new house , new puppy . Great little soft natured Boxer but does need guidance as the owners aren't totally familiar with bringing up puppies . Work in progress as expected but little Datsun is already picking up the communication the owners are applying. Nice job guys . See you soon for 2nd session.

Very helpful and I feel that I will find Mark good to work with. Covered a lot of ground. Quite tiring, mentally and physically for both of us. Pansy and I will both have to work hard for some time to achieve results. I will need some support, maybe more than others more active. I am thinking about a programme for the next months.

- M.T, Rangiora (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
This is a special case , 88 year old lady and a very pushy but lovely 5 yr old Shihtzu x Maltese. rushes to greet guests, Pulls, barks , recall not good, dog reactive to one dog in the retirement village. A work in progress and we are taking small slow steps at the owners pace so haven't got to the aggression issues yet. Hence not all problems were covered in the first lesson. The dog responded well considering it's been in charge for many years but progress is happening. And practice will be required. Receipt and guarantee haven't been written up yet and review was done one day after our first session on the first of many lessons.

Ghost Staffy and Hank Boxer had issues on different end of the scale, Ghost was high adrenaline and a jumper who loves people and Hank didn't like men and would be scared. Mark explained clearly what was happening with each dog and the best way to teach them. In just a few days we have seen a huge change in both dogs.

- K.W, Leithfield (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
As Kirsten has indicated these two lovely dogs are chalk and cheese in temperament and application. Ghost is such a lover boy he can't contain himself with people. And Hank busy hiding away from the same people. Both the dogs and the owners applied the techniques shown to communicate really well with both dogs even though the problems where so different. I'll expect two pretty relaxed dogs on my next visit , Still works in progress though as dogs need guidance to know exactly what to do. Great work to the boys and great work too Kirsten.

Mark dealt with Aggression, Pulling, Sibling rivalry

Mark was very informative and helpful. We had nearly immediate changes with Marley.

- L.C, Dallington, Christchurch (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Little Marley is a young Border Collie. lovely temperament but reactive to dogs and big barker at the door also pulls and forgets to respond to his name. He responded well in our first lesson teaching the owners to communicate in a way he can relate too. Still a work in progress and a second visit soon will help clarify and adjust what's not quite there yet. Nice job Marley and Pawrents.

Mark dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall, Separation anxiety, Sibling rivalry

I found the training very good with Mark, I would rate it 4 out of 5 , only because it was a lot to take in in 3 hours , Oakley would not get into my car previously but has done so successfully each day since the lesson, lead work is still a work in progress needing some more work but our second session will sort that. Mark was definitely a great help.

- A.G, Rangiora (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Oakley is a Golden retriever unneutered male of 8mths of age . The owner was struggling with his focus and listening to commands and control as he would jump , pull ,has separation anxiety , rush guests and generally far to boisterous and over exuberant. Her biggest issue was Oakley would not get into her car even though the older dog would. During the lesson by using the dogs pack rules and communication he started to respond well. Our second session is soon and we'll fine tune what is still a work in progress. Nice work so far Oakley and mum.

Mark dealt with Barking, Pulling, Recall, Sibling rivalry

Bobby has thought he is the leader of our pack after his human father passed away earlier this year. Mark came to our home and explained why Bobby is reacting this way and has given me some great skills to reestablish that I'm the pack leader with Bobby. It only took a couple of times and Bobby was great. Friends and Family have all noted what a different dog he is behavioral wise and not barking at couriers etc. My chooks are very grateful now too with no surprises from Bobby rushing at them, walking around the park without being pulled along, it is so pleasant to have my buddy walk beside or behind me now. Mark was so great with both of us, and being able to be trained at home in our own surrounds familiar to Bobby.

- L.M, Westport (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Bobby is a beautiful big Boxer boy. From Buller west coast. Since dad passed, mum had struggled to get on top of some of his behaviours as he's decided to be pack leader in the house , barking too strongly at arrivals, pulling and recall but also jumping up and starting to play rough with nipping. He responded very well and now the chook feeding routine is much more controlled among other things. Just one session so far but huge improvements all credit to Mum for applying the speakdog process. Well done both of you.

Mark dealt with Aggression, Barking

Charli barks when people come to the door , at the courier at our retail shop where he comes with me daily. He also has anxiety with visiting the vet and barks a lot . Over the course of the session Mark helped address these issues and showed me ways to keep the training going and Charli calmer. Charli responded well , is a work in progress but I’m sure we will get on top of most of his issues to make him a more pleasant wee dog

- L.B, Kaikoura (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Ahhh little Charli. Lovely wee guy but definitely thinks he needs to be protector of all. Vey barky at arrivals both at home and at the retail shop .Major fear aggression at the vets, will bite. So the lesson went well , he responded well and stated focusing, we got to the vets with much less reaction than usual although that will be a work in progress but initially showing great promise of toning down his bossiness. Nice work Charli and Mum.

"I'd like to share my wonderful experience with Mark. He managed to fit us in before Christmas and exceeded our expectations. His lesson was exceptional in terms of time and effort. I was impressed by how he conducted two initial lessons in a single day, and travel the south island. We were exhausted, and so were the dogs! Mark has a unique storytelling approach that helped me understand my dogs and start learning 'dog'. Although I found the walking and lead work challenging, Mark was patient with me and gave me different options to try, which made me understand better. This was especially helpful since I am neurodiverse. Thanks to Mark's expertise, the dogs are now extremely happy, and so are we. We can't thank you enough, Mark!"

- B.B, Kaikoura (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Phillip is the dog in question, Royal his offsider. Phillip is very anxious and barks at anything , pulls on walks , barks at dogs , Separation issues and worried about most people coming to the house. Once the techniques of refocusing Phillip were applied he started to settle , responded well , still with some work to go and the Mums did an awesome job of applying the information and correct body language. I'm looking forward to catching up soon to see the progress. Well done Kaikoura team Phillip.

Mark dealt with Hyperactivity, Pulling

What can I say , I had tried several online training courses which didn't really do it , so my vet suggested Bark Busters after buddy was a real pain in the clinic. I will admit to being a little concerned as it was a lot of money and although Marks reviews where good I had read a lot of other trainers reviews that weren't so good. Any way Mark arrived we had three hours which I didn't think would be enough with a hyper active dog. Well if you are in doubt like I was , just do it . Buddy is dramatically calmer, walks to heal, no more pulling, recall is not quite there yet but we will work on it , its opnly been a few days so far. So thank you Mark I am very impressed although I will admit to missing my crazy mad puppy in a good way, but the whole of the village is impressed with buddy and what Mark at Bark Busters achieved in one session . Still things to work on but money very well spent

- d.s, Fox Glacier (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Buddy is a 1yr old Chocolate lab x Vizsla, from good hunting stock, very hyped and no focus initially, very pushy , very jumping , pulled and recall was an issue as was escaping and skiving off to the village cafes in search of food. He did really well in the lesson and we'll need more input but initial lesson day results are showing through already. Great job Buddy and Fox Glacier team of 3. I'm looking forward to the second session to fine tune anything needing adjustments.

Mark dealt with Aggression, Barking, Jumping up, Pulling

Our session with Mark was so valuable. It’s amazing how changing a few simple things has transformed Bear’s overall behaviour. (If only some of these tips had been taught at puppy classes!) Our biggest challenges with Bear were jumping excitedly all over visitors, territorial barking, lead pulling and chasing aggressively after bikes and motorcycles. The greeting visitors, barking and lead pulling issues have largely been resolved and we have been given tools for dealing with the bike chasing. Mark is very patient and a great teacher. Bear is well on his way to becoming a calmer, better behaved wee companion.

- S.R, Stoke, Nelson. (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Bear is a very soft natured Spoodle x Labrador, but did think he was in charge. Chasing things likes bikes etc off lead was an issue. also extremely over excited with guests and door knocks , recall and pulling also issues. He responded really well and I'm sure will be a great dog . I'm looking forward to hearing his progress.

Mark dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Sibling rivalry

Mark was great and within minutes Dotti responded to him and we had a different dog. He taught us how to work with her and by the next day walking was no longer a nightmare for us. We still have work to do with the separation anxiety, but it's early days.

- T.M, Christchurch (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Dotti is a 2 yr old Collie with separation anxiety issues , house move and family change hasn't helped her manage things . Great dog , bright willing to learn and the owners applied our speakdog techniques really well. She'll do great but the separation anxiety will be a work in progress initially. Great work guys.

Well worth it

- J.M, Grovetown (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Basic lesson to tweak some minor recall and pulling issues ,. Good dog with good skills just needed extra skills for the owners.
