We see Bark Busters as an important investment in the happiness of our miniature schnauzer Lulu, and our own sanity! We were anxious about whether it would work and if we would gel ok with the trainer. We shouldn't have worried! Keiko is amazing and clearly communicated the changes we needed to make, and also the reasoning behind them. We have a plan for Lulu and are excited to see a calmer, less barky pup.

2nd March 2023 - Keith Mockett

We've had a problem with our friendly, kindly granddog Archie who is three years old (border collie, lab, huntaway). His only fault is that he rushes at visitors while barking a ferocious huntaway warning. Keith was quick to the rescue, arranging a session that took place a few days after our initial phone chat. It was a great help having Keith explain Archie's behaviour, how he's acting instinctively to protect us and that he needs to know that barking is not OK, that we have the situation under control so he doesn't need to overreact. He showed us how to practice a series of voice signals, followed by a command, then praise (no treats). This method will change his behaviour as long as we practice, practice, practice with Archie. Keith was friendly and very clear in outlining the instructions we need to follow. There was plenty of time to ask questions and practice the method. Archie responded very well in the session. It surprised us how quickly he learned. We feel much more confident now that we know what to do and have a clear plan to follow. The method has already made a difference to Archie. He's calmer and toning down his excessive (to us) reaction to guests. We're not there yet, but well on the way. Many thanks Keith from Archie's human pack, Marie, Owen, Alexis and Elisha

Labradors can be quite over the top when young with their jumping ,pawing ,pulling etc as well as the play games to be in charge stuff and at 6mths old Marley is a toddler turning teen very quickly, and certainly a great temperament and you noted can respond well when we speakdog instead of human. Keep up the grand work and I'll see you with a revisit soon. Awesome job guys.

Gizzy is way more settled - rarely barks at dogs going by.A human BAH refocus is enough for him to be quiet. Gizzy is a delight to walk and mostly ignores other dogs on his walk. He still will sometimes turn into a Kujo dog without any reason but is refocussable. We are still working on the door thing as quite often he arrives at the door before us. WE have taken his bone off him without a growl:-) Gizzy countered my ignoring him on my arrival home by now jumping into my car when I open the door and sitting on my knee. Guess I will have to BAH at him to stop my homecoming welcome until I am ready. So not 100% but great improvements and a work in progress.

Gizzy was boss Hogg from attention to territory protection. Great little guy but an over elevation of his job. worked well in the lesson and is refocussing better for the owners as they apply the daily programming fine tuning.

Mark was amazing with Sadie! He came in respecting how she was and helped us work on settling her until she was ready and calm to deal with. Within a 3 hour appointment my reactive dog was starting to desensitise to people coming through the door and isn’t pushing past us to be first through. Mark works miracles in the mere hours he had with us! Excited for our journey to continue and to see further improvements in my now 3yr old GSD..

Sadie is a GSD and is very protective of the owner who Sadie is a semi therapy dog for. Her roll was a bit hard for her and the arrival of the new baby has increased her protection of the pack. She pulled , jumped , huge barks and reactive at the door even for regular visitors. The owners now know Bark Busters speakdog processes to calm her and take charge of situations. She is a work in progress but heading in the right direction. Great job guys.
